A 26-year-old man is facing manslaughter and reckless driving charges after a pregnant woman was killed in a car crash late last year.
Court documents filed this week show a Tuscaloosa County Grand Jury found probable cause that Roger Stephen Crain caused the death of Savana Sanders and her unborn child by driving in a reckless manner the morning of Dec. 22, 2019.
The crash happened near the 36-mile marker on U.S. Highway 82 West.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Reginal King said Sanders was a front-seat passenger in the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Crain was driving.
Crain was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $30,000 in bonds Monday but has since posted bail and been released.
