A local pageant winner is trying to spread her message of physical fitness throughout the Tri-States.
15-year-old Mallory Sublette from Palmyra won Miss Heartland’s Outstanding Teen last October and much of her success revolved around her Drop and Give Me 20 campaign.
Sublette encouraged people to drop their electronic devices for 20 minutes a day and engage in physical fitness.
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Sublette was visiting schools in Missouri and Illinois talking to students about the importance of working out and even though that’s come to a halt, spreading her message of being active hasn’t.
Sublette said that, “I just started it this past week, the 20-20 challenge.
It’s where I’m doing 20 of my favorite exercise, I film it, I post it on Facebook or Instagram or any other form of social media and then I tag three friends and challenge them to do the same.
And you just keep doing it and doing it and as everybody continues to challenge their friends, more and more people are taking the time to get up and get moving.”
